Islamabad - Week Nine
This is the Prime Minister's office on Constitution Avenue. I see it every day being driven to and from work.

Islamabad - Week Eight
I took a number of photos at the Golra Railway Museum, but this is my favorite. I can't account for its dreamy, cinema-like quality. I didn't do anything but point my cell phone toward the children and push the button. To me, it feels like it could have been taken a hundred years ago.

Islamabad - Week Seven
Last weekend we had the opportunity to visit the Golra Railway Museum. It was really wonderful to get out and experience a little bit of the country outside the middle of Islamabad. The museum dates from the time of the British Raj, and is still a functioning station today. The curator is doing everything he can to preserve a few interesting artifacts from the colonial period, and what we saw we found interesting. My favorite part, though, was getting the chance to see everyday Pakistani people.

A few photos from the day:
This is what's called a "Jingle" truck. Variations of this are quite common in Pakistan. |
This is the opposite side - the truck is not just a pretty face! These workers are unloading bricks - literally tons of bricks - from the belly of the truck. |
Children from KPK playing near the station. |

Islamabad - Week Five
The New Year is "done and dusted," as the British say. Hard to believe we've been here five weeks.
