Islamabad - Week Eleven

I volunteered today to help interview local college students for an opportunity to participate in a semester-length exchange program in the United States. The program had nearly 13,000 applicants to fill 220 spots, and was very competitive. I was so impressed by the students we interviewed and their optimism, intelligence, and dedication to change the world; it was an honor to be a part of the process.

The interviews were held at a local educational institution - this is the door that leads to the administration building. Appropriately symbolic for today's task and beautiful. It was salvaged from southern Punjab and transported to Islamabad when the school was built (I'm afraid I don't know when).

Hand carved.
