Islamabad - Week Seven

Last weekend we had the opportunity to visit the Golra Railway Museum. It was really wonderful to get out and experience a little bit of the country outside the middle of Islamabad. The museum dates from the time of the British Raj, and is still a functioning station today. The curator is doing everything he can to preserve a few interesting artifacts from the colonial period, and what we saw we found interesting. My favorite part, though, was getting the chance to see everyday Pakistani people.

This is what's called a "Jingle" truck. Variations of this are quite common in Pakistan.

This is the opposite side - the truck is not just a pretty face! These workers are unloading bricks - literally tons of bricks - from the belly of the truck.
